Gloria E. Lindquist

April 6, 1933 — June 13, 2016

WEBSTER / HOLDEN - Gloria E. (Anctil) Lindquist, 83, formerly of Holden died peacefully at home on Monday, June 13, 2016. She was born in Rumford, ME and raised in Southbridge, MA a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Anna M. (Arsenault) Anctil. Gloria relocated and settled in Holden where they lived for many years. She worked as a waitress for most of her life, serving customers at several area restaurants and function facilities, including the former Putnam & Thurston’s lunch counter in Worcester as well as at Wachusett and Holden Hills Country Clubs. In her later years, Gloria worked as the cafeteria cashier at Memorial Hospital, Worcester before retiring. Her love of reading meant there was always a good book nearby. She also enjoyed country music and line dancing, which she had to give up in recent years due to her health limitations. She was also active in the residence council of Golden Heights Senior Housing in Webster, where she called home for the past 20 years. Gloria was predeceased by her husband of over 27 years, Kenneth R. Lindquist in 1988. She leaves her five children, Earl G. and David K. Lindquist and Kenneth R. Lindquist and his wife, Rachel all of Worcester; Rodney Terry Lindquist and his wife Janet L. of Inman, SC and Cheryl A. Marin and her husband, Richard of Holden; her three siblings, Albert Anctil of Charlton, Priscilla Plaza of Dudley and Patty Petro of Southbridge; her five grandchildren, Richard and Andrew Marin, Kara Lindquist and Tyler and Kaitlyn Lindquist. She was also predeceased by her two brothers, George and Henry Anctil and her sisters, Elaine Larochelle and Eleanor Nielson. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Gloria’s family on Sunday June 19, from 3-6 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will held on Tuesday June 21, at 11:00 a.m. in Grove Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers please send Memorial donations to COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce De Leon Blvd., Miami, FL 33134.
