WORCESTER - Gladys (Kessler) Rudnick, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 2, 2025, surrounded by her family at her home in Dedham. She was 95 years old. Except for the last two years of her life, Gladys lived her entire life in Worcester.
Gladys was the daughter of Saul and Sadie (Hass) Kessler. She married Murry Rudnick and they lived a busy and full life until his death in 2015. She leaves three children: Ron (Nellie), Carol Kirchick (Bill) and Andrew (Catherine); seven grandchildren: Rob, Jared, Jamie, Jeffrey, Alexa, Samantha and Sasha; and five great grandchildren: Teddy, Adam, Hanna, Matteo, and Josie; and was affectionately known as 'Bubbie' to all.
As a teenager Gladys began what would become a lifelong devotion to community service. She formed Worcester's first B'nai B'rith group for teenage girls. As an adult she continued her relationship as an active volunteer with B'nai B'rith, the Jewish Healthcare Center and the Jewish Community Center, as well as translating books to braille for local blind students. When her children were grown, Gladys decided to earn her commercial real estate license and enjoyed her years working as a real estate broker. She loved to travel and, with her husband, made so many memorable trips, in the United States and abroad.
Gladys' happiest times were spent with her family, often around the holiday table which she would proudly host.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will follow at B'Nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John's Road, Worcester. The family requests no flowers. Contributions in Gladys' memory can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
