HOLDEN - Gladys R. Chilleri, 94, died on April 2, 2022, at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Harold Berry and Viola (Sheard) Berry. Being the second of twelve children, her early life was difficult, but Gladys was resilient, determined and successfully worked to better her circumstances.
Gladys was devoted to her parents, siblings and children and together with her husband, Joe, was the fiercest champion of her grandchildren.
Her circle of life was her home. Family and friends came and went through her always open door. Thursday night was always pasta night, “Sugar” and “What in the Sam Hill?” were her strongest curse words, and her annual Fourth of July cookout rivaled none. Gladys loved her church, reading romance novels, gardening and crossword puzzles.
Gladys is survived by daughter Carole Keratsis, son Nicola Narcisi, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her siblings Gerald, Dorothy, David and his wife, Jean, and several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 8th at St. George's Church, 40 Brattle St., Worcester, followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Holden. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
