WORCESTER - Giovanna (Ventriglia) Palladino left this earthly realm on December 25, 2021, after a prolonged illness. She was 66 years old.
Giovanna was born in San Nicola la Strada Provinca di Caserta, Italy, April 13, 1955. She immigrated to the United States along with her family in 1972. She attended and graduated from North High School in Worcester in 1974. Post-graduation Giovanna worked various jobs, culminating as a Certified Nurses Aid.
Giovanna met the love of her life, Martino Palladino in Italy and were married in Italy in 1977. Giovanna was the quintessential “Italian” mother doting over her children Luisa, Antonietta and Stanley and her grandchildren Ava and Ella. Giovanna was gifted at cooking all Italian foods, phenomenal breads, pastries and her famous fish feast on Christmas Eve.
Giovanna is survived by her two daughters, Luisa Palladino of Worcester, Antonietta MacKenzie and her husband, Collin MacKenzie and their daughters, Ava and Ella of Gloucester; her son, Stanley Palladino of Worcester; her mother, Antonia Ventriglia; her siblings, Giuseppe Ventriglia, Salvatore Ventriglia and his wife, Louise Ventriglia, Anna Smarra and her husband, Domenic; As well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins both in the United States and Italy. Her family meant the world to her, she will be greatly missed.
Giovanna was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Martino Palladino, her father, Antonio Ventriglia, father-in-law, Stanislao Palladino, and mother-in-law, Luisa Palladino.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Giovanna’s family from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 31st in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Our Lady of Loreto Parish, 37 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, appropriate social distancing and wearing of a mask will be required. Entombment will follow at St. John’s Mausoleum in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. of Massachusetts/New Hampshire, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
