RUTLAND – Gilbert “Gil” R. Sauve died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at UMass Memorial Healthcare, University Campus in Worcester, after a long illness. He was born and raised in Manchester, New Hampshire, the son of Philip and Marcelle (Gagon) Sauve.
Gil leaves his loving wife of 20 years, Bonnie J. (Roach) Sauve of Rutland; his son, Timothy T. Brown and his wife, Jennifer of New London, Connecticut; his daughter, Julie J. Duponte and her husband, John of Swansea; his brothers, Philip Sauve, Jr of Concord, New Hampshire, and Leo Guy Sauve, Sr. of Goffstown, New Hampshire; his sisters, Anne McClain and Lisa Sauve, both of Manchester, New Hampshire; seven grandchildren, Connor, Chase, Machiele, Chad, Ella, Jack and Matthew; as well as many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother, Bobby Sauve.
He attended Manchester High School and worked as a certified nursing assistant in the healthcare field for many years. He lived in Oxford before moving to Rutland in 2003. Gil was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed going to the beach in Maine, cooking and hanging out at the local coffee shop discussing the latest gossip, but most of all, he loved time spent with his family.
A funeral service celebrating Gil’s life will be held on Monday, August 12, at 11 a.m., in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, 142 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland.
