Biography
MARLBOROUGH – Gertrude C. (Despres) Bristol, 94, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Beaumont of Northborough after an illness.

Her husband of 32 years, Delos “Tim” Bristol passed away in 1981. She leaves a son, Robert C. Bristol and his wife Lisa of Sterling; a daughter, Sally A. Bristol of Marlborough; four grandchildren, Michael, Alyssa, Stephen and Mark; and many nephews and nieces.

She was born on February 19, 1919 in Westborough, the daughter of Laurent and Malvina (Duprey) Despres and graduated from Marlborough High School. She had lived most of her life in Marlborough and twenty years in Englewood, FL before moving to Sterling fifteen years ago. Gertrude was a homemaker for many years and worked at Jordon Marsh in Framingham. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, spending time with family and loved to play the slots at Mohegan Sun.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Town of Sterling Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 515, Sterling, MA 01564.
