J. Gerard F. Bouchard

December 15, 1928 — December 11, 2006

HOLDEN – J. Gerard F. Bouchard, 77, of 53 Avery Heights Drive, a Korean War Veteran, died Monday, December 11, 2006, peacefully at home in the presence of his wife and children.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Lillian L. (Larivee) Bouchard; his son, Daniel G. Bouchard and his wife Sharon of Milford, NH; three daughters, Bernice M. Melancon of Saratoga Springs, NY, Claudette M. Stone and her husband Christopher of Mont Vernon, NH and Camille M. Bouchard-Chhoeuk and her husband Sang of Worcester;12 grandchildren; and four brothers, Andre, Lucien, John and Jean Bouchard. He was predeceased by a brother, Armand, and three sisters, Simone Veilleux, Jeanne Demers and Beatrice Proulx. He was born in Manchester, NH, son of Phillipe and Angelina Bouchard, and lived in Nashua before moving to Holden in 1979. He graduated from St. Jean de Baptiste Elementary School and West High School in Manchester. He also graduated cum laude from the University of New Hampshire at Durham with both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and was a member of the Tau Beta Pi, an engineering honor society. He was a First Lieutenant Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Bouchard was retired from Sprague Electric of Worcester after many years where he was involved in the development of microchips used in the aerospace industry. After retiring, he worked part-time for his son at Tech Transport in Milford, NH. Previously he worked for RCA in Burlington. He was an avid bridge player and golfer. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church where he served as a religious educator and Eucharistic minister. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be remembered for always.

The funeral for Mr. Bouchard will be held on Friday, December 15, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum, 162 Webster Street, Worcester. Calling hours are from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Mary’s Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 2200, Jefferson, MA 01522.
