EAST BOSTON, MA – Geraldine (Healy) Thompson, 82, died peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2013, under the loving care of her family and the staff at Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence in Worcester, MA. Born in Boston, MA, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of Henry and Sarah C. (McDonald) Healy and lived most of her life in East Boston.
Mrs. Thompson was a graduate of East Boston High School and Mt. Ida College in Newton, MA. She worked over twenty years for Delta Airlines at Logan Airport.
Her husband of 59 years, John G. Thompson, died in 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Roddy and her husband John of Danielson CT; and two sons, James K. Thompson and his wife Joanna of Orlando, FL and Dennis M. Thompson and his wife Denise of Lynn, MA; two sisters, Kathleen Garner of Lincoln, MA and Josephine Bruce of Mattapoisett, MA and a brother, Henry Healy of Pleasant Valley, NY; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 23rd, in Our Lady of Assumption Church, 40 Grove Street, Lynnfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Geraldine, to the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence, 1183 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
