WORCESTER – Geraldine “Gerry” Coster, 82, of Worcester passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at UMass Memorial Medical Center- University Campus. Gerry was born in Brooklyn, New York, the only daughter of the late Harold and Frances (Donovan) Coster.
She graduated from Our Lady of Wisdom Academy and went on to earn her Nursing Degree at Prospect Heights Nursing School in Brooklyn. She furthered her education at Worcester State College where she received her BSN. Most of Gerry’s career was dedicated to the Red Cross, working in various locations including Long Island, New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
Gerry’s life was centered on her faith and the patients she cared for. She was a longtime member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel in Still River. In her spare time, Gerry could often be found listening to the radio while enjoying a little online shopping.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 11 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, 282 Still River Road, Still River followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Main Street, Holden. In lieu of flowers, Gerry has requested memorial donations be sent to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, PO Box 1000, Still River, MA 01467 for the repose of her soul and the souls of all those in purgatory.
