RUTLAND – Georgia R. (Dawson) Fowler Campbell, 98, a long time resident of Rutland, died Friday, July 30, 2004 in the Holden Nursing Home.
Her husband, George M. Campbell, died in 1980. Her first husband Henry L. Fowler died in 1972. She leaves two stepdaughters, Ruth E. Pelligrini of Rutland and Georgia E. Graves of Barre; seven step-grandchildren; five great-step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was born in Orangeville, Illinois, daughter of Jesse W. and C. Delphina (Lord) Dawson, and lived in North Attleboro for nine years and Worcester for twenty years before moving to Rutland in 1947.
Mrs. Campbell was a secretary for Riley Stoker Company in Worcester and an aid at the Rutland Library for 14 years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rutland, the Monday Club, the Cradle Rock Chapter O.E.S. in Barre, the Worcester Business & Professional Woman’s Association, the Rutland Historical Society and a former member of the Rutland Grange.
The funeral service for Mrs. Campbell will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, August 2, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, 142 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. A calling hour will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday prior to the service.
