STERLING – George A. Tetu, 72, of Sterling, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 after an illness. Born and raised in Manchester, New Hampshire, George was the son of Armand A. and Melina E. (Noel) Tetu and lived 47 years in Sterling.
George graduated from St. Anthony High School in Manchester. After graduation he joined the Army honorably serving his country from 1961 to 1964 while stationed in Paris. He then worked in the computer industry retiring from Quickware Engineering and Design in Waltham. Following his retirement, he worked for seven years at Home Depot in Leominster running the Children's Workshop. The grandchildren loved joining “Pep” on Saturday.
In life he was most grateful to know Jesus as his personal Savior. He attended Hope Chapel in Sterling. In 1979, through the Catholic Charities, he and his wife, Judy, sponsored a Vietnamese refugee family who settled in Sterling. He was active in the Pro-Life movement for over 30 years defending the sanctity of life. He enjoyed serving meals at Pleasant St. Baptist in their outreach program. He recently returned to his hobby as Ham Radio operator. He was a baseball and softball coach for years having champion teams.
George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. There are many things we can enjoy in life, but his greatest satisfaction in life was seeing his children love their children and enjoyed watching the grandchildren develop their gifts and talents: music, academics, sports and faith.
