STERLING – George M. Fellows, Jr., 77, of 107 Clinton Road, died Saturday, September 11, 2004, in the Meadows of Leicester after an illness.
His wife of 40 years, Beatrice M. (Laurie) Fellows, died in 1999. He leaves three sons, Douglas P. Fellows of Worcester, Gerard M. Fellows of Hiram, Georgia and John P. Fellows of Florida; a brother, Richard Fellows of Claremont, Florida; ten grandchildren; and a great-grandson. A son, James M. Fellows, and a sister, Barbara Fellows, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of George M. and Agnes V. (Baker) Fellows, and lived many years in Worcester and 40 years in Sterling.
Mr. Fellows graduated from South High School in Worcester and from the University of Massachusetts, Stockbridge School of Agriculture in Amherst. He worked at Wireway Husky Corporation in Sterling for 40 years. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was a member of the Hiram O. Taylor American Legion Post in Sterling. He enjoyed camping, fishing and was avid Red Sox fan.
A memorial service for Mr. Fellows will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 17, in Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main Street, Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701; or the Town of Sterling Fire Department, Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 515, Sterling, MA 01564. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling, is directing arrangements.
