WEBSTER – Geoffrey D. Guntharp, 76, beloved husband of Dianne (Malitas) Guntharp, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Born in Columbus, OH, and raised in Japan and Oahu, Hawaii, he was son of the late George and Enid (Ovens) Guntharp.
Geoff earned a bachelor’s degree in theater from Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. He went on to enjoy a successful career as an independent sales representative in the fly-fishing industry. He was a competitive swimmer and held the record in the butterfly stroke for his age group for many years. Geoff will be remembered as a great fly fisherman by those who knew him best. He had many other interests such as traveling, hiking, and camping. He loved movies, especially sci-fi and westerns, and music, particularly the blues and the Beatles. Always the family man, Geoff loved gathering with his family for BBQ’s and during the holidays. As an amateur chef, he loved to cook for his family.
He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 30 years, Dianne; his son, Noah, Guntharp; his two daughters, Kelsey Guntharp; Bree Beauregard and her husband, Mark; and his three grandchildren, Chloe, John and Hunter; a sister, Lolli Hollsten and her husband, and their four daughters and a sister- and brother-in-law, Gail Malitas and Bill Robbins.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 17 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National MS Society, P.O. Box 91891, Washington, DC 20090-1891.
