Gale E. Eckerson

WORCESTER – Gale E. Eckerson, 79, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. She was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Ben Eckerson and the late Elizabeth (Walo) Wright.
Gale, an alumna of the Tri Delta sorority, earned a B.A. in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University and her M.A. in Library Science from Simmons College.
She had a long career as a librarian before retiring from C/W MARS in 2006.
Gale enjoyed classical music, reading, art, fashion, sewing, swimming, and travels to Maine. She was devoted to her loving cats and was an advocate of animal protection. Hockey, baseball, and the Olympics were special interests. She was a dedicated member of the Unitarian Universalist Church.
Gale is survived by two sisters, six nephews, a niece, and their families. At her request, funeral arrangements are private and will be held to accommodate the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester, MA or to a charitable organization of your choosing.
