RUTLAND – Gail L. (Robbins) Mattson, 81, passed away at home on Sunday, January 17, 2021 after an illness.

She leaves her loving husband of 50 years, Paul T. Mattson; her sister, Wendy Cronin of West Millbury; her brother, Gerald Robbins; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Betty Barber, Joyce Robbins and Virginia Allard.

Gail was born in Millbury, the daughter of Howard W. and Eleanor E. (Hafstrom) Robbins and had graduated from Millbury High School. She was a clerk for forty-one years at Paul Revere Insurance Company in Worcester before retiring. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rutland and loved her summer visits to the coast of Maine, especially the Kennebunk area. In her leisure, Gail enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting, beach walking, snow skiing and traveling.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Gail’s family on Thursday, January 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A funeral service for Gail will be held on Friday, January 22, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and for everyone’s safety, appropriate social distancing and wearing of a mask will be required. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Rural Cemetery in Rutland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Rutland Police Association, 242 Main Street, the Rutland Fire Brigade Rescue Fund, 240 Main Street, or the First Congregational Church of Rutland, Organ Fund, P.O.
