Frederick L. Hart

HOLDEN - Frederick Lewis Hart, 73, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully in the early hours of December 20, 2018 in the comfort of his home. He was born on January 6, 1945 in New Britain, CT, son of Louise Stebbins Hart and George Hart of Newington, CT.

Fred is survived by his daughter, Carina L. Hart and son-in-law, Daniel Albano of Vernon, CT; his former wife, Linda V. Hart of North Brookfield; and many friends and family throughout the world, and the father of Kimberly, Adam, Eric, and Carina Hart.

He was a retired Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at WPI for over 30 years. His professional specialties were in the areas of drinking water and wastewater treatment. Fred was active in the project centers while a professor including Venice, Morocco, Puerto Rico, and Panama. He obtained his BS and PhD from UCONN University, taught at McGill University in Montreal and WPI in Massachusetts for over 30 years.

Fred was an excellent photographer. His artistic side was demonstrated through his photography and presentation of these photos. He was much more comfortable behind the camera presenting his interpretation and vision of the world around him.
All are invited to visit with Fred's family from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, followed by a Memorial Service at 4 p.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden .
