HOLDEN – Frederick “Fred” F. Davis, 79, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, November 17, 2018. Born in Beverly and raised in North Quincy, Fred was the son of the late Forrest M. and Sarah (Bonner) Davis and lived the last 38 years in Holden.

Fred was a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School, class of 1957. After attending Northeastern University, Fred enlisted in the United States Coast Guard where he honorably served his country from 1958 to 1962. He remained in the Coast Guard Reserve for the following two years and spent 25 years working at Whiting Milk Company in Charlestown and Dairylea Inc. In 1979, Fred took a customer service position at Astrofoam Inc., where he worked over 20 years retiring as the general manager before they were bought by Tuscarora Inc. After his retirement, Fred worked over 11 years at The Masonic Home in Charlton assisting residents with their transportation needs.

Fred’s life was centered on his strong faith and love of family. First and foremost, Fred cherished his time spend with family and friends. He could light up a room with his heartwarming smile and captivate the listener with his insatiable Irish wit and storytelling. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and their many accomplishments. He will live forever in the hearts for those who knew and loved him particularly his family and the “First Friday” dinner gang.
