WORCESTER/HOLDEN – Francis J. “Frank” Wolanski, 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. Frank was a son of John T. and Mabel (Lucia) Wolanski. He attended Worcester Boys Trade High School and earned his Associate’s Degree from Worcester Junior College. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Frank met and married the love of his life, Roberta Stevens on July 21, 1951 at the Park Avenue Methodist Church, recently celebrating their 66th wedding anniversary. He was a facilities manager and engineer for Mason Research, a career of over 40 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed family vacations throughout Cape Cod, New England, and special canoe trips to the Allagash River in Maine with his sons. He was an avid swimmer and had a passion for collecting antique books. Above all, Frank was a family man. He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife, Roberta (Stevens) Wolanski; his daughter, Wendy L. Griffith and her husband, Lou; his 4 sons, Bernard F. Wolanski, Michael S. Wolanski and his wife, Kim, Gary W. Wolanski and Daniel D. Wolanski and his wife, Wendy, all of Worcester; his 11 grandchildren, Christopher Wolanski, Amy Lopes, Kara Ekstrom, Brian Wolanski, Jessica Scott, Tawnya Ertel, Louis and Daniel Griffith, Amanda Wolanski, Alisha Plante, and Arianna Wolanski; 16 great-grandchildren; his twin brother, Bernard Wolanski and his wife, Elizabeth of Worcester; 2 sisters, Kathleen Mayer and Theresa Wamback both of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his 3 brothers, John, Richard and David Wolanski. Relatives and friends are invited to join Frank’s family for calling hours at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St, Holden on Wednesday, October 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 19 at Greendale People’s Church, 25 Francis St, Worcester.
