Francis "Pat" Fanning, Jr.

SPENCER/PAXTON - Francis "Pat" Fanning, Jr., 74, formerly of Paxton, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 due to complications from Parkinson's Disease. He was born in Worcester and grew up in Paxton, the son of Ruth (Latvis) and Francis P. Fanning Sr., and has lived in Spencer for 15 years.

Pat graduated from Wachusett High School with the class of 1962. He later studied Electrical and Industrial Engineering at Worcester Junior College. Pat went on to work at Worcester Wire Works Co. for 16 years before founding the Fanning Electric Co. which he owned and operated for 26 years. Pat had a passion for the outdoors and was a skilled deer hunter. He had enjoyed many hunting trips to Kansas and parts of Canada, and was a member of the Leicester Sportsman's Club. Pat belonged to the Central Mass Drag Racers Club and had a true love for drag racing. Above all he cherished his family and close friends.

Pat will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 15 years, Ginny Fanning of Spencer. They enjoyed many adventurous trips together. He leaves his sons, Jason P. Fanning of North Brookfield and Michael F. Fanning and his fiancée, Janine of Holden; his daughter, Bethany Fanning of Rutland; his step-son, Clyde Ames of North Brookfield; his step-daughter, Christine Stockton of Spencer; his sister, Juanita M. Hayward and her husband, Bryan of Northborough; his granddaughter, Lillian; and his step-grandchildren, Jessica, Derek, Curtis and Jenna. He was predeceased by his first wife, Janice M. (Lyra) Fanning in 1999 and his lifelong friend, Bobby Girouard.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 am on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be private on Monday at Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Spencer, 207 Main St., Spencer, MA 01562.
