Biography
WEST BOYLSTON – Frances Jean (Hussey) Meppelink, 79, of West Boylston, died peacefully with her family by her side at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI, Jean was the daughter of Francis L. & Bessie (Young) Hussey.
Jean attended Central Bible Institute in Springfield, MO and went on with her husband, Harvey, to raise a family and plant churches in Chelsea, MI, Norwalk, CT and Burlington, MA. She loved God, her family and she served everyone with her whole heart. She was a true example of Christ in everything she did. If you were a friend of Jean’s, you were a friend forever.
She leaves her beloved husband of 59 years, Rev. Harvey J. Meppelink; a son, David Meppelink & his wife, Pamela of Chelmsford; two daughters, Denise Larson & her husband, Donald of West Boylston; and Rev. Deborah Kerr of Worcester; a brother, James Hussey; two sisters, Dee Sakwitz and Barb Collver; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 17, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A funeral service honoring Jean’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, at New Life Church, 834 Main Street (Rte. 13), Leominster. Interment will be private at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Life Church and will be donated to charities close to Jeans’ heart, Heartbeats for Down Syndrome & Eddie’s Fund.
