SHREWSBURY/HOLDEN – Frances P. (Farinelli) Lonardo, 89, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014, at Worcester Rehabilitation Health Care Center after an illness.
She leaves three sons, Richard L. Wood and his wife, Eileen of Holden, Ronald P. Wood of Clinton and Frederick J. Lonardo and his wife, Cheryl of Holden; a sister, Elsa Loughlin of Lincoln, RI; four grandchildren, Kristen, Riley, Nicole and Daniel; two nephews and two nieces. She was predeceased by a sister, Angela M. Castaldi.
Frances was born in Summit, New Jersey, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Vetrone) Farinelli and had lived in Shrewsbury before moving to Holden many years ago. She was a bookkeeper for sixteen years at Jamesbury Corp. in Worcester, retiring in 1990. She enjoyed country music and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Frances’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the care and compassion provided by the staff of the Homestead Hall and Summit ElderCare during her illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 25, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A memorial service for Mrs. Lonardo will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, in the funeral home followed by a committal service at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
