WEST BOYLSTON/RUTLAND – Frances E. (Hatstat) Brown, 58, of 87 Maple Street, West Boylston, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, August 31, 2005.
She leaves two daughters, Dayna Brown-Dolan of Worcester and Kelly J. McCoubrey of Leominster; a brother, Timothy Pion of Worcester; two sisters, Gloria Hatstat of Paintsville, Kentucky, and Diane Maple of Jefferson; eight grandchildren, Faith, Stephanie and Matthew Brown, Zachary Flood, Joshua Sassen, Storm and Makenna Dolan, and Paige McCoubrey; two great-grandchildren, Herman Young, Jr. and Jenevieve Young; her former husband, Paul L. Brown of Vero Beach, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. A son, Brian P. Brown, died in 1984, and a daughter, Tammy L. Brown, died in 1999. She was born in Holden, daughter of Robert G. and Betty Jean (Hodgman) Hatstat, was raised and lived most of her life in Rutland, then Worcester, until moving to West Boylston three years ago.
Mrs. Brown was an administrative assistant for Mass. Rehabilitation in Worcester and most recently Worcester State Hospital. She was a member of Greendale People’s Church, the Genesis Club, AA, and Al-Anon.
The funeral for Mrs. Brown will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, in the Greendale People’s Church, 25 Francis Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, 142 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 5, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Genesis Club, 274 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
