RUTLAND – Firmin Z. Sillo, 54, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Lowell General Hospital, Lowell. He was born in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa, the son of Hubert Sery and Rachel Kre. Firmin was a former resident of Cambridge who had lived in Rutland for the past 15 years. Firmin received his degree in electrical engineering from Yamoussoukro in West Africa. He then graduated from UMass Lowell earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. He enjoyed his career as a plastics engineer with Cequr in Marlborough. Firmin was part of a small grassroots business called Amerivoire Investors, which is a small investment club for the economic and social development for Cote d'Ivoire. He was an active member of the Ivorian Community. Firmin played adult league soccer and coached soccer for Rutland Youth Soccer League. He also enjoyed golfing and tennis. Firmin leaves his wife, Deborah Proia; his daughter, Isabelle Sillo of Rutland; two brothers, Joel and Lenoir; five sisters, Patricia, Yolande, Olive, Shantal, Viviane; and a large extended family and many friends. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury Street, Holden to be followed by a luncheon. On Saturday, August 20, Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden followed by a committal service at Rural Cemetery in Rutland.
