WORCESTER – Jane F. (Brown) Sluckis, 88, of Worcester, died on Monday, June 23, 2008 in University Commons, Worcester. Her husband, Anthony E. Sluckis, died in 1969. She is survived by a son, Paul A. Sluckis, nieces, and nephews.
She was born in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of Augustus and Florence (McInerney) Brown, and worked as a women's clothing buyer in Buffalo and Pittsburg before coming to Worcester and working at Barnard's Department Store. Later she was a home health care worker, retiring in 1980. Jane was a member of St. George's Church. An Avid reader and knitter, she also enjoyed watching the Red Sox.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 27th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mrs. Sluckis will be held on Saturday, June 28th, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. George's Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, (Rte. 56) Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. John's Episcopal Church Food Pantry, 166 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
