WORCESTER – Philip F. Bourget, 70, of 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 27, 2008 in Wachusett Manor, Gardner.
He leaves his children whom he loved dearly, Robert Bourget of Holden, and Debra, Donna and Doreen Bourget; four brothers, Thomas S. Bourget, Jr. and his wife Cathy of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Lawrence E. Bourget and his wife Mary of Millbury, Richard J. Bourget, Sr. of Worcester, and Albert R. Bourget and his wife Gale of Holden; a sister, Rosemarie Direnzo and her husband John Direnzo, Sr. of Millbury; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Thomas S. and Katharine I. (Vassar) Bourget, Sr., and lived in Worcester until moving to Gardner.
Phil was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade High School and the Mass. State Police Academy for campus police. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked in security at both the College of the Holy Cross and Worcester State Hospital; and worked at Sabo's Getty Gas Station in Worcester and several years at the Belmont Home. Phil enjoyed long walks, ice cream, and spending time with the staff and residents at Wachusett Manor. While a resident in the nursing home, he loved the many excursions with his niece, Jennifer Bourget.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral service for Phil will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1st, in the funeral home with burial following in St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester.
