F. Joel Kinney

WORCESTER – F. Joel Kinney, 77, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, after a battle with mesothelioma.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Joan E. (Levanthal) Kinney; two sons, Mark P. Kinney of Worcester and Stephen F. Kinney and his wife Terry of Barre; two daughters, Kathleen J. Mack and her husband Kevin of Rutland and Nancy H. Kinney of Auburn; four grandchildren, Kim and Sean Stevens and Maylee and Ava Kinney; three great-grandchildren, Brendon Torres, Caira Stevens and Cassaundra Penagos; nephews and nieces. A sister, Lois Walker of San Diego, CA, predeceased him in 2003.
Joel was born in Worcester, the son of Frank and Helen (Moore) Kinney and had lived in Worcester all of his life. He loved to travel with his wife to Wells Beach and Perkins Cove, both in Maine. He also was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins.
Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
