STERLING - Mary E. (Wright) Wronski, 80, of Sterling, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2010, with her family by her side.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Harold J. Wronski; two daughters, Karen Wronski Hesselberg of Holden and Susan Wronski Kennedy and her husband Brian Kennedy of Sterling; two granddaughters, Gabrielle Hesselberg of Holden and Jillian N. Kennedy of Sterling; a brother, Gordon Wright of Sterling; three sisters, Betty Morse of Spencer, Anne Lima of Hubbardston and Brenda McDonald of Spencer; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother, Donald Wright of New York. Mary was born in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Burton and Isabelle (Strait) Wright. She married and moved to Sterling in 1949.
Mary was an avid reader, bird-watcher, and loved gardening, shopping and decorating. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and baking during the holidays, especially during the Christmas season. Mary and her husband operated a family vegetable farm stand in Sterling for many years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to thank Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center and Evercare Hospice for their loving care and support.
Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 14th, in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge St., Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Sterling Animal Shelter Inc., 17 Laurelwood Road, Sterling, MA 01564.
