Evelyn E. (Seuss) Kneeland

STERLING - Evelyn E. Kneeland, 93, died peacefully on September 25, 2011. She was the wife of the late Paul Kneeland and mother of the late Richard Kneeland. She is survived by her son, Foster Kneeland; a daughter, Marcella DiDomenico; a daughter-in-law, Joanne Kneeland; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was a graduate of Clinton High School and Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester, receiving her R.N. in 1939. She worked at the former Princeton Manor from 1949 to 1953 when she became the Public Health and School Nurse for Sterling, retiring in 1977. Following retirement, she served on the board for the Sterling Council on Aging for 20 years.

A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 15, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Clinton Road in Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the First Church in Sterling, 6 Meetinghouse Hill Road, P.O. Box 40, Sterling, MA; or the Sterling Council on Aging, P.O. Box 243, Sterling, MA 01564. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles-Sterling Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling.
