HOLDEN - Evelyn R. (Berglund) Frederickson of Holden, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. Born and raised in Worcester, Evelyn was the daughter of Sven G. and Anna E. (Mollberg) Berglund and lived many years in Holden.
Her beloved husband of 60 years, Tul R. Frederickson died in 2012. She leaves a son, Dana P. Frederickson of Holden; a daughter, Paula F. Janowski and her husband Paul of Princeton; a sister, Virginia Lindquist of Duxbury; a grandson, Bradford Janowski of Princeton, and many nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by a sister, Marguerite Thoren and a brother, George Berglund.
Evelyn graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. She worked as a Senior Staffing Representative at The Paul Revere Companies in Worcester, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holden and it’s Womens Circle. Evelyn enjoyed being a mom and was proud of her children and grandson. As a member of several Lutheran churches, she sang in choirs, taught Sunday school, served on committees, and volunteered at the Lutheran Home. Evelyn enjoyed tennis, dancing, travelling, bridge, and was an avid reader. She loved Swedish traditions, and most of all loved to gather with her family and friends.
A memorial service honoring Evelyn's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 1st at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury St., Holden. Interment and committal service will be held privately at Grove Cemetery in Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Evelyn's name to either the ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response, or the ELCA World Hunger, c/o Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury St., Holden, MA 01520.
