HOLDEN – Raymond E. Vaugh, 81, of Chapel Street, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in the Jewish Healthcare Center, Worcester after an illness.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Rita E. (Ryan) Vaugh; 3 sons, Russell E. Vaugh of Hudson, Gerald W. Vaugh and his wife Kathy and Robert Vaugh all of Holden; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Vaugh of Ware; a brother, Francis Vaugh of Auburn; 5 grandchildren, Christina and Melissa Vaugh and Virginia, Robert and Stephen Servant; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, John Taylor and Albert Vaugh and his sister, Shirley LaFouci. He was born in Worcester the son of William F. and Beatrice L. (Giles) Vaugh and lived in Holden for 54 years.
Mr. Vaugh was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was an inspector for 36 years at the Heald Machine Co., Cincinnati Milacron Co., in Worcester, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. George’s Church in Worcester, Nimrod League of Holden and the National Rifle Association.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 1st, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral service for Raymond will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 2nd, in the funeral home with burial following in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester.
