HOLDEN - Evadelle "Penny" L. (Spaulding) Roy passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2023, in the loving care of the dedicated staff at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester. She was 91. Born in Cornish, New Hampshire, Evadelle was raised Holden the daughter of Walter E. and Lillian E. (Oster) Spaulding. Her deceased husband, Henry "Pete" Roy of 50+ years.
Evadelle graduated from Holden High School and worked many years as an administrative assistant at UMass Memorial Medical Center on Lake Ave. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holden.
She is survived by a brother, Richard S. Spaulding, Sr. of Jefferson; and nephews and nieces including Richard G. Spaulding Jr. of Jefferson, Robin L. Baldarelli of West Boylston, Roger L. Spaulding of Jefferson and Ronda M. Coccio of Tennessee.
She was a dedicated and loving daughter to her parents. She loved to travel. She traveled all over with her parents, niece and nephews to the all the Sulky Racetracks, to see her parents compete. She also traveled all over with her husband Pete to Country Western & Blue Grass Festivals. They were both musicians who loved to perform. She was very artist. She loved to take old saws and antique memorabilia and paint picturesque country scenes on them. She was an expert cake decorator. She loved making wedding cakes and gave her nieces and nephews a book to choose whatever cake design they wanted for their birthdays.
A graveside service will held privately at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the activities fund at the Odd Fellows Home, 104 Randolph Rd., Worcester, MA 01606.
