Ethelinda J. (Bedard) Thomas

HOLDEN – Ethelinda J. (Bedard) Thomas, of Jefferson, known to family and friends as “Linda” or “Nina”, died peacefully at home. She was born in Clinton, daughter of the late Leon and Rhoda (Stone) Bedard, and was raised in the Berlin and Bolton area.

Linda graduated from Tahanto Regional High School. She raised her family in Barre and then lived in Holden for the past 15 years. When her children were older, Linda decided to begin working full time again. She applied for a nursing aide position at a local facility, and there she found a career with a great deal of reward and satisfaction. Linda worked for several area care facilities, and the for the past 16 years, she has worked in various positions within the Notre Dame Health Care Facility in Worcester, MA. Most recently, Linda was assisting patients in the hospice program, providing loving support during their final days. She truly cherished the relationships that were formed with her patients, their families and the people she worked with. Spending time with her family, her daughter, 3 grandchildren, and great grandson was a top priority for Linda. You could always find her outdoors kayaking, biking and hiking, where she enjoyed all the beauty of nature.

She leaves her four children, Meghan C. Thomas, Lisa A. Adams, William B. Thomas and Jason E. Thomas; her three grandchildren, Shayla Thomas, Brieanna and Joseph Benoit; her great grandson, Landon Boyce; her five siblings, Wendy Funk, Sandra Hodges, Rhoda Battey, Edmond and Lee Bedard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. The Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden is assisting with the arrangements.
