WORCESTER – Tracy E. Scannell, 46, of Ada Street, Worcester died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, in Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She leaves two sons, Scott D. and Nicholas J. Scannell both of Worcester; her step-mother, Mary F. (Mulvey) Scannell of Rutland; an uncle, Joseph P. Scannell of Shrewsbury; an aunt, Marguerite Martel of Tustin, CA; many cousins and close friends. She now joins her father, John H. Scannell who died in 2006.
Tracy was born in Biddeford, Maine and lived most of her life in Worcester. She graduated from Doherty Memorial High School, Worcester in 1980. She worked for Fallon Healthcare and St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester for over 10 years, retiring early due to an illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 10th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A) Holden. The funeral for Tracy will be held Friday from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56) Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
