WORCESTER - Erwin Leviton, age 90, died peacefully at home on Saturday, March 1, 2025, surrounded by the loving presence of his family. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Abraham and Rose (Burack) Leviton, and was a lifelong resident of Worcester.
After graduating from Commerce High School, Erwin proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he graduated from the Elizabeth Ollis School of Cosmetology. Erwin owned and operated Mr. Erwin’s Beauty Chateau on June Street for decades, until his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed telling a good story, joking around and making people laugh. He was a long time member of Temple Emanuel Sinai and enjoyed attending Friday night services regularly for many years. Above all, he was devoted to his cherished wife Gladys, and his family.
Erwin will be lovingly missed and remembered by his daughter, Lora Kanter and her husband, Jon of Pahrump, Nevada; his sons, Joseph Leviton and his wife, Mona of Medway, and Mark Leviton and his wife, Pamela of Rutland; his beloved granddaughters, Sarah, Rachel, Elise and Madison; and his sister, Irene Feldman. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Gladys (Sigel) Leviton in 2023, and by his brothers, Eli Leviton and Philip Leviton.
Family and friends gathered for a Graveside Funeral Service on Tuesday, March 4th at Holy Society Cemetery in Leicester. Memorial Observances were private. Arrangements were in the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden. Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
