STERLING – Eris Teneys Nash, 94, died peacefully at Knollwood Nursing Center, Worcester on September 25, 2023. Eris was born in the Bronx, New York, the daughter of Reuben S. Dietz and Maria Teneys Dietz and grew up in Baltimore Maryland.
Eris married the love of her life, Philip (Nash) on March 30, 1955. The couple initially lived in Weymouth, but later settled in Sterling where they raised their family and lived for over 50 years. Eris was active in Women’s Club, loved to paint and garden, enjoyed going to craft fairs, playing bridge, and square dancing. Eris worked at Lancaster Gardens for many years.
Philip and Eris were members of the First Church in Sterling for many years and Eris was active in Church activities. Eris also enjoyed reading, playing dominos, and going out to eat. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Eris will be lovingly missed and remembered by her son Clayton Nash and his wife, Maria Garcia of Warren, RI; her daughters, Kimberlee Clymer and her husband, Jeff of Narragansett, RI and Brenda Buchanan and her husband, Scott of Bristol, NH; her grandchildren, Lauren Clymer and her husband, Colin Donohue, Eliza Clymer, Jillian Clymer, Samantha Buchanan and her husband, Chris Bauer, Kayla Buchanan-Craig and her husband, Tucker, Stephen Buchanan and Madeline Haywood and her husband, Gregor; her great grandchildren, Miles and Taron; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Eris was predeceased by her husband, Philip.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation hour from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday September 29, 2023, at Miles-Sterling Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Sterling. There will be a luncheon at Barbers Crossing North, 175 Leominster Road, Sterling at 1 p.m. In recognition of Eris’ love for animals, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NEADS at neads.org.
