PAXTON – Erdic G. Nichols, 91, of Washington St., Auburn, formerly of 235 Pleasant St., Paxton, died Friday, October 7, 2005.
He leaves his wife of 69 years, Marian (McGovern) Nichols; a sister, Muriel Morrison of Dennis; nephews and nieces. He was born in West Springfield, son of George and Anne (Cermak) Nichols, and was a life long resident of Paxton. He graduated North High School and the WPI School of Industrial Management.
Mr. Nichols worked 46 years for Rexnord in Worcester, retiring as Manager of Quality Control. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Paxton, Sons of Paxton, Paxton Council on Aging, and the Greendale Retired Mens’ Club. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Rufus Putnam Lodge of Masons in Rutland; and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and the Aletheia Grotto in Worcester. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and bowling.
A memorial service for Mr. Nichols will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 14, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Please omit flowers.
