PRINCETON – Gary E. Prunier, 54, of 44 Merriam Road, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 13, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 32 years, Denise A. (Letourneau) Prunier; two daughters, Nicole D. and Michele A. Prunier both of Princeton; two sisters, Judith Matress and Terry Turgeon both of Worcester; his father-in-law, Francis W. Letoureau of Holden; many nephews and nieces; and his beloved dog, Kora. A sister, Carol Gibson, predeceased him. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of Ernest and Cecile (Birtz) Prunier, and lived in Worcester before moving to Princeton in 1977.
Gary was a 1971 graduate of Holy Name High School and a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College where he received an Associate’s Degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. After owning and operating with his wife the Medical Arts Hearing Aid Center in Worcester for over 20 years, he was a U.S. Postal Mail Carrier where he made many lifelong friends. He was a member of Notre Dame-St. Joseph Parish and was a strong supporter in preventing the closing of St. Joseph’s Church. He enjoyed fishing, music, gardening and working around his home.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 16th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral Mass for Gary will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 17th, in St. Joseph’s Church, 35 Hamilton Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 77 Cambridge Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
