NORTH BROOKFIELD – Bernice E. (Paronto) Tillotson, 100, formerly of North Brookfield and Rutland, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, in the Holden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Holden.
She was born on March 1, 1908 in Lowell, Vermont, to Charles and Sadie (Hill) Paronto. In 1926 she married her husband of 54 years, Harold H. Tillotson who died in 1980. She lived in North Brookfield for 45 years before moving to Rutland in 1984. She leaves five children, Robert Tillotson and his wife Helen of Wilmington, Audrey Bishop of Holden, Jane Dansereau and her husband Roland of Rutland, Lloyd Tillotson and his wife Carole of North Brookfield and Howard Tillotson and his wife Marcia of Spencer; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. She was a former member of the First Congregational Church of North Brookfield. In addition to caring for her family, Bernice worked for Barre Wool Co. for 30 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 12th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral service for Bernice will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home followed by burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Elm Street, North Brookfield.
