PAXTON – Ralph E. Oatley, 72, of 2 Briarcliff Lane, died Saturday, March 22, 2008 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 47 years, Mary "Betty" E. (McKeon) Oatley; five daughters, Kathleen M. Putnam and her husband Michael of Paxton, Christine A. Messier and her husband Keith of Queensbury, NY, Laureen E. Dickinson and her husband John of Shrewsbury, Susan M. Fahey and her husband Paul of Dracut and Betsy J. Rogers and her husband Buddy of Sanford, NC; a brother, Donald W. Oatley of Aztec, NM; and 14 grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, son of Augustus and Bernice (Gwilliam) Oatley. Ralph worked for Sunnyside Ford in Holden for 43 years, retiring as Sales Manager in 1998.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Ralph will be held on Wednesday, March 26th, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th floor, Boston, MA 02210.
