PRINCETON – Dianne J. (Temple) Engelhardt-Noel, 64, of Calamint Hill Road South, formerly of Westboro, died Wednesday, February 7, 2007 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester after an illness.
Her husband of 23 years, Carrington F. Noel, Jr. died in 2005. She leaves her father, Donald L. Temple of Westboro; three sons, Joel P. Engelhardt, Jr. of Hubbardston, John M. Engelhardt of Great Falls, MT and Karl E. Engelhardt of Oxford; two step-sons, Carrington F. Noel III and Robert Noel both of Barre; five sisters, Barbara Lytle of Grafton, Elaine Coughlin, Donna White, Denise Paige and Doreen Higgins all of Westboro; 11 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a close friend, Ed Metivier of Sterling. A grandson, Moe Engelhardt predeceased her. She was born in Marlboro, daughter of Barbara A. (McDiarmid) Temple and lived in Princeton for 35 years.
She was a 1960 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Milford and earned her Masters Degree in Psychology from Clark University in 1979. Dianne was a technical writer for several area computer companies in Worcester County. She taught at Shepard Knapp School in Boylston and worked at the Judge Gould Institute in Worcester. She was a former member of the Princeton School Committee.
She ran the Audubon Society summer camp program for wildlife studies in Princeton and was a coordinator at Summers World in Worcester. She enjoyed arts, crafts, antique jewelry and going to the beach. Dianne loved her sons, grandchildren and her special friends in “Club”.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life and reception which will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2007 in the Wong Dynasty Chinese Restaurant, 176 Reservoir Street (Route 31), Holden. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104-2396; or UMass Memorial Foundation, Breast Cancer Fund, 365 Plantation Street, Suite 100, Worcester, MA 01605-2395. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is directing arrangements.
