Emery Naomi Pollier

June 4, 2020 — August 31, 2020

RUTLAND - Emery Naomi Pollier was born June 4, 2020 in Boston, MA. Emery entered this world full of adventure and uncertainty. She was prenatally diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and an Intact Atrial Septum. The most severe form of congenital heart disease with a high fatality rate. This meant that the moment she was born, she needed to have an emergent procedure done at Boston Children’s Hospital. That procedure was successful and she achieved her initial victory. When she was only five days old, she had her first open heart surgery, which she was also victorious in. Her hospital stay was long, but we expected it to be even longer. She passed away on Monday August 31, 2020 in her parents arms.

The three months that we had with Emery were nothing short of exciting, devastating, and everything in between. She was known as “feisty and fabulous” by all those who knew her in the CICU. Some of her nurses referred to her as the “Tazmanian Devil.” Her condition was incurable but her team of doctors and nurses always seemed amazed with her progress and growth. She was incredibly brave and so interactive at such a young age. Her parents will forever be grateful for the moments of holding her hands, reading to her, praying over her, seeing her smile, and simply just looking into her eyes and admiring her long, luscious eye lashes.

Emery has had a huge impact on our lives, even from the moment God knit her together in the womb. She has taught us to cherish every moment, fight for those you love, and most importantly, never lose faith in God. Emery’s life has and will leave a lasting impact to those who knew her and to those who never even had the chance to meet her.

Emery is the daughter of Hogan and Kendal Pollier and the little sister of Irelynn Pollier. She is the granddaughter of Michael and Angela Pollier and Richard and Maria Newell. Emery has many aunts, uncles, and cousins that we are very hopeful will meet her someday.

We would like to thank the team at Boston Children’s Hospital for the incredible care that our daughter received. The love and compassion that they had and still have for Emery is truly amazing. They always looked at her like one of their own, and we consider them family. We want to thank our friends and family for stepping up and taking care of Irelynn when we needed it most. We want to thank Emery’s Warrior’s for the prayers and support for Emery and for our family. And we want to continue to think of and pray for all the babies, children, and adults who battle with congenital heart diseases.

Burial for Emery will be private but the family would like to invite all to attend a celebratory service for her at their home in Barre on Saturday September 5, 2020 at 1PM. Please email us at driven.ap@gmail.com for our address. We ask that you do NOT wear black to any of these services and to please wear brighter colors, preferably red or something with hearts in honor of our little heart warrior.

If anyone would like to make a donation in memory of Emery, we would love to support the new heart center that is under construction at Boston Children’s Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
