BOYLSTON – Elwood V. Lovely, 81, passed away peacefully with his beloved wife by his side after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester. He was born and raised in Washburn, Maine, a son of Vaughn and Beatrice (Richards) Lovely before moving to Massachusetts
After graduating from Washburn High School, Elwood enlisted in the military and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked at Consolidated Beverages for many years before retiring. In his spare time he loved to spend time, fishing, gardening and going to church.
He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 13 years, Patricia A. Donaldson of Boylston; eight children; four brothers; and twelve grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his former wife, Elaine (Rondeau) Lovely, one brother, one sister and a son.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 4, at Grove Cemetery, 1520 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Town of Boylston Police and Fire, 221 Main Street, Boylston, MA 01505.
