GARDNER - Elnora L. King passed away February 13, 2024 at Gardner Rehabilitation Center after dear friends and family gathered at her bedside, surrounding her with fellowship, singing, prayer, and walks down memory lane in an uplifting Sabbath vigil. After a long battle with complications of Alzheimers disease, while holding her daughter’s hand, she passed on to her rest to await the call of her Lord and Savior.
Despite the debilitating symptoms and challenges of memory loss in later life, she was ever courageous and attentive to others along the way. She brought an offer of prayer, an uplifting smile, a helpful spirit, time-honed advice and opinions, and a “two step” when the spirit moved to all she came in contact with at Corcoran House (Clinton, MA) and Broadview Assisted Living (Winchendon, MA) where she resided in the care of dedicated staff in her final years.
She leaves behind three children, Sharleen King, Norman King, III, Renese King, daughter-in-law Wendy King, son-in-Law Aston Beadle, grandchildren, Mychelle King-Coleman, Jordan King, and Norman King, IV, sisters Lola Richardson, Mable Gibbs, nieces, nephews and extended family members in Brunswick, GA.
A memorial gathering and tree planting ceremony honoring her life will be held on Friday, April 19, 10:00 am at the College Church of Seventh-Day Adventists, 337 Main Street, S. Lancaster, The family welcomes donations in memory of Elnora to the Alzheimers Association (alz.org/get-involved-now/donate) in lieu of flowers.
