HOLDEN – Mary Ellen (Flanagan) Hussey, 60, of Mason Rd., Jefferson, died Monday, June 1, 2009 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 25 years, John P. Hussey, a son, Patrick F. Hussey and a daughter, Ann E. Hussey both of Jefferson, and several cousins. She was born in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John I. and Margaret C. (Burke) Flanagan, was raised in Oak Park, and lived 10 years in Jefferson.
Mary Ellen graduated from Trinity High School and Dominican University both in River Forest, IL and received her Master's Degree in Finance from Loyola University in Chicago. She was a supervisor in the Nuclear Medicine Department at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago where she worked 13 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Jefferson, was an avid reader, and enjoyed buying and selling books.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 5th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mary Ellen will be held Saturday from the Miles Funeral Home, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will be private in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Church Building Fund, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson, MA 01522, or to Dominican University, In memory of Mary Ellen Hussey, 7900 West Division St., River Forest, IL 60305.
