Ella C. (Krog) Beach

January 15, 1933 — March 29, 2012

RUTLAND – Ella C. (Krog) Beach of Prospect Street in Rutland, died peacefully at her home in the presence of her family on Thursday, March 29, 2012 after an illness. She was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Danish immigrants, Peter H. and Emma (Justesen) Krog, and lived 49 years in Paxton before moving to Rutland in 2004.



Ella attended Commerce High School and worked at Norton Company for many years. She also worked for the Town of Paxton as a dispatcher, Registrar of Voters and at the Paxton Light Department. Ella worked at the Lutheran Home of Worcester prior to her retirement. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Paxton where she had served as Senior Deaconess. Ella was a member of the Paxton Women’s Club and the Paxton Council on Aging serving as Chairperson at one point. Ella was very proud of her Danish heritage. Other interests included Early American painting, tennis and gardening. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren.



She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband of 59 years, David K. Beach; a son, Kevin Beach and his wife Jennifer of Whitingham, Vermont; two daughters, Karen C. Searles and her husband Ronald of Holden and Kristine C. Helle and her husband Jay of Rutland. Also she leaves one of her triplet brothers, Stanley P. Krog of Holden. Ella also leaves 9 grandchildren, Sarah, Melissa, Fletcher, Lauren, Connor, Jeffrey, Emma, Skye and Jade; 2 great grandchildren, Maliyah and Kira; many nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by three brothers, Victor H., Howard N. and Philip A. Krog.



In remembrance of Ella, a memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, at the First Congregational Church, 1 Church Street, Paxton. The Rev. Donald D. Whitcomb will be officiating. Burial will be private at the Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
