WORCESTER - Abigail Elizabeth (Williams) Hill died Sunday at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home after battling pancreatic cancer for more than 2-1/2 years without complaint. She was 52 and lived in West Boylston for most of her life.
She was born Feb. 17, 1955 at Hahneman Hospital in Worcester, daughter of the late Donald F. and Margaret-Sydney (Budd) Williams of West Boylston. She spent her childhood summers and many vacations at Higgins Beach in Scarborough, Maine.
A 1973 graduate of West Boylston Jr.-Sr. High School, Abigail received her associate’s degree in legal studies from Westbrook College in Portland, Maine, in 1975 and her bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies from Anna Maria College in 1993. She was a longtime corporate and real estate paralegal for the law firm of Fletcher, Tilton & Whipple.
Abigail was an avid reader and a skilled writer, a gifted cook, a devotee of fine dining and a fan of Formula 1 racing, attending many competitions in Canada with her husband Benjamin E. Hill of West Boylston. She is celebrated by her family and friends for her crackling wit, her generous heart, her resolute mind and her passionate, sympathetic soul.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Whitney Margaret Hill; a son, Geoffrey Emerson Hill; a sister, Noel-Sydney Davis of West Boylston; a brother, Scott F. Williams of New York City; a niece, Sydney Elizabeth Davis of Newport, RI, and a nephew, Ian B. Davis of San Diego, CA.
A service in celebration of her life is scheduled Saturday, June 9th at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s-on-the-Heights Church, 340 Burncoat Street in Worcester. Abigail’s family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) or to the VNA Care Network (vnacarenetwork.org).
