WEST BOYLSTON – Elizabeth (Demchuk) Sieminski, 96, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Born in Ethelbert, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of the late Michael and Lena (Virstiuk) Demchuk.
She was married in 1949 and moved to Worcester where she raised her family. For many years she worked as an administrative assistant at State Mutual.
In her younger years, she enjoyed playing the mandolin and ice skating. Family was most important to Elizabeth. They remained a lifelong priority for her, she frequently traveled to California and Canada for visits. In her later years attending Holy Cross Football with her grandchildren became a fun pastime. She would go to many home and away games, always tailgating beforehand, which to her meant bringing her delicious baked chicken, homemade apple pie and ice cream. She also enjoyed family visits to Breezy Picnic grounds and caring for her houseplants. She was very proud of her Ukrainian and Canadian heritage and could be heard singing the Canadian national anthem “O Canada” up until just recently.
Elizabeth is survived by her two sons, Larry Sieminski of Jefferson, James Sieminski and his wife, Lisa of Simi Valley, CA; four grandchildren, Beth-Ann Sieminski of Marlborough, Michael Sieminski, David Sieminski, John Sieminski and his wife Stephanie, all of Simi Valley, CA; three great-grandchildren, Izabella, Anthony James, and Ivy; and many nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her three sisters, Rae Shastell, Nettie Evasiuk, Marusia Demchuk; one grandson, Robert Sieminski and her daughter-in-law, Judith (Clifford) Sieminski.
The family would like to thank the dedicated and caring staff at Oakdale Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center, especially for providing the countless hours of bingo, a game she was passionate about.
A funeral service honoring her life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St., Worcester, MA 01603.
