HOLDEN – Elizabeth M. Pitman, 84, died on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in Sterling Village, Sterling after an illness.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth V. Johnson of Holden; a brother, Allison Pitman of Nova Scotia, Canada; and several nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester the daughter of Allison and Myrtle (Jeffrey) Pitman, Sr. and had lived in Holden most of her life.
Elizabeth graduated from the David Hale Fanning Trade School in Worcester in 1946 and had worked in the mailroom for the Paul Revere Life Assurance Co. for many years before retiring. Previously, she had worked as a seamstress for the Denholm & Mckay Co. in Worcester. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Worcester.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Elizabeth at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Why Me? Inc. & Sherry House, 1152 Pleasant Street, Worcester, MA 01602; or to a charity of one's choice.
