Worcester – Elizabeth June (McLaughlin) Lufkin, 93, of Worcester, died peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the Life Care Center of Auburn.
Elizabeth was born on December 2, 1929 in Portand, ME, the daughter of the late Reid and Elizabeth (Martel) McLaughlin.
She was married to the late John J. Lufkin, Sr., who passed on June 13, 2005. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Sandra Laffin of Worcester; her son John J. Lufkin, Jr. of Worcester; her grandchildren, John R. Lufkin and Patricia Kapusta; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Reid McLaughlin.
Elizabeth lived her younger years in Rutland but lived the majority of her life in Worcester. For many years she worked in research for Astra Pharmaceuticals and later Raytheon. In her leisure time Elizabeth enjoyed trips to the beach and excursions to Foxwoods. Above all, she cherished spending time with her loving and devoted children, Sandra and John.
At Elizabeth’s request, there will be no calling hours and burial will be private. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Memorial contributions may be made to Veteran’s Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605, www.veteransinc.org .
