HOLDEN – Elizabeth G. (Morley) Amidon, 87, of Reservoir St, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007, in Sterling Healthcare Center, following an illness.
Her husband of 18 years, Russell W. Amidon, died in 1976. She leaves her stepson, Robert Elliot Amidon and his wife Norma of Ft. Collins, CO; a stepdaughter, Carolyn “Sue” Decoteau and her husband Roger of West Boylston; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildern; 2 great great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester the daughter of James L. and Helen (Carberry) Morley, one of eight children all of whom have predeceased her.
Elizabeth worked as an inspector for Woodbury Printing Company in Worcester. She was an active member of St. George’s Church, singing in its choir for over 20 years. She enjoyed painting especially in oils in her free time.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 30th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sterling Healthcare Activities Fund, c/o Joy Stockwell, 18 Dana Hill Road., Sterling, MA 01564.
